About:
Nose Art originally began by way of identifying friendly aircraft during combat. Nose Art grew to become a form of folk art, showing comradery within crews and air units.
Mission Quest is conducting the 2nd Annual Airplane Nose Art Contest. Three winners will be chosen! The winning nose art will be affixed to one of the Mission Quest simulators and the winners will be invited, along with a friend, to receive a 2-hour joint orientation and simulator flight. All entries are due by July 31, with winners announced on National Aviation Day, Aug 19, 2023.
Rules:
- Open to all 6th – 10th grade Students.
- You may submit sketches, paintings, or digital concepts.
- Entries must be the original work of the submitter and not a reproduction or copyrighted material.
- Must be family friendly. No violent, profane, or nude content.
- Submissions in “JPG” or “PNG” formats are preferred and should be created to allow for 18” by 18” final size adjustments with good quality. Non-digital submissions may not be returnable. Submissions may be adjusted to fit format and print requirements.
- Technical assistance is available for sizing, scanning etc. at missionquest@museumofaviation.org.

Submissions must include student name, grade level, parent/guardian name, and phone number. Multiple entries must be submitted separately.
