Policies

Effective July 15, 2026

1. Mission & Eligibility

The National STEM Academy (NSA) Lending Library provides high-quality resources for STEM education. STEM kits are available to full-time employees of public school organizations, verified PTO/PTA members acting on behalf of that public school organization, and registered homeschool parents.

Borrowers must be 18+ and present a valid photo ID.

  1. Permitted & Prohibited Use

The Lending Library resources are intended for educational, classroom, club, and community learning activities offered at no cost to participants. Resources may not be used by any individual or organization to fulfill paid contracts, support fee-based camps, or deliver revenue-generating programs without written approval from the Museum of Aviation Foundation.

Independent contractors and external consultants are not eligible to borrow resources to fulfill service agreements. Accountability must be held by the host school or parent.

Borrowers must comply with all federal, state, and local laws and safety precautions during use.

  1. Reservation & Logistics

Strict limit of two (2) kits per checkout session.

Allow us to help you plan for STEM Nights or Special Events! Contact our team (STEM@museumofaviation.org or 478-222-7575) to coordinate.

Standard loan period is 15 days (pick-up to return). Renewals must be requested 48 hours prior to the due date and may be granted if no waitlist exists.

Kits must be returned by 4:00 PM on the scheduled return date.

  1. Community Impact & Branding

Borrowers are asked to provide one social media engagement with a photo/video tagging the Museum of Aviation Foundation and/or the National STEM Academy. If the borrower’s organization does not allow social media posting, this requirement is waived.

Photos must be appropriate for public sharing and must be shared only if the borrower has obtained any required photo/video permissions from their organization and participants/guardians.

The Museum of Aviation Foundation National STEM Academy (MOA/NSA) sign provided in the kit must be displayed whenever the kit is in use (e.g., at events, in classrooms, or during demonstrations).

  1. Mandatory Post-Program Reporting & Feedback

To maintain the integrity of our grants and inventory, borrowers must complete the following within five (5) days of kit use/return.

Borrowers are required to submit participant reach data (number of students served) and provide feedback on kit efficacy and report any missing, malfunctioning, or damaged components via a QR code included with the kit.

Completion of this brief form triggers a notification to our administrative team to reconcile the inventory and finalize the loan record.

  1. Accountability, Loss, & Damage

Borrowers assume all responsibility for damage, loss, or theft of the kit, contents, and accessories. Charges will be based on the cost of equipment/supplies or the current cost of replacing the entire kit.

Kits must be returned in original containers and in the same condition as originally loaned.

  1. Performance & Privileges

Failure to return kits on time, unauthorized use, or failure to submit mandatory reporting and feedback may result in suspension of borrowing privileges for the individual and/or organization. Repeated late returns, misuse, or failure to comply with this policy may result in denial of future lending requests.

  1. Questions, exceptions, and approvals. Requests for exceptions must be submitted in advance and receive written approval from the Museum of Aviation Foundation.
