Kindergarten – 8th Grade Students

  • Time: 9:30 AM – 12 Noon
  • Cost: $30.00 per student/per STEM Lab (+ Sawyer Service Fee calculated at checkout)
  • Beginning January 2025: Due to generous donor funding, NEW pricing for all STEM Labs is $20.00 per student/per STEM Lab (+Sawyer Service Fee: Calculated at Checkout)

Kindergarten: “Colorful Creations”
Experiment with bubbles, water, and paper filter chromatography and explore color mixture.

1st – 2nd Graders: “Colorful Creations”
Explore the science of colors and create masterpieces in this engaging STEM Lab!

3rd –  5th Graders: “Science of Color”
Students will explore the science of light by conducting experiments with lenses and prisms, just like Sir Isaac Newton!

6th – 8th Graders: “Minecraft Mania”
Students can become Minecraft master builders by designing homes with working lights, moving staircases, and railcar rollercoasters using the in-game resource “Redstone”!

October 26, 2024

Kindergarten: “Spooky Science”
This spooky science class will have students growing ghosties, creating spooky slime, and mixing the bubbliest witches brew ever!

1st – 2nd Graders: “Spooky Science”
Halloween-themed experiments will introduce students to the scientific process, exploring chemical reactions, density, and sound!

3rd –  5th Graders: “Creepy Chemistry”
Design erupting pumpkins and create spooky potions in this exciting STEM challenge!

6th – 8th Graders: “Computer Works”
Explore the inner workings of a computer using virtual reality and learn about the latest technology advancements!

November 16, 2024

Kindergarten: “Curious Explorers”
Explore nature, learn about leaves, and investigate soil samples in this fun and engaging class!

1st – 2nd Graders: “Curious Explorers”
Students will become animal detectives by learning to identify animal tracks with homemade tools while exploring the world around them!

3rd –  5th Graders: “Curious Explorers”
Become outdoor explorers by building flashlights, compasses, and binoculars. Use them to identify animal tracks and complete engaging engineering challenges!

6th – 8th Graders: “Survivor STEM”
Embark on a thrilling mock mission based on a historical event behind enemy lines, starting in our flight simulation lab and exploring historical aircraft!

Kindergarten: “Reindeer Games”
Embark on a winter STEM adventure, solving mazes with Ozobots, designing reindeer, and engineering rafts!

1st – 2nd Graders: “Reindeer Games”
Embark on a winter STEM adventure, solving mazes with Ozobots, designing reindeer, and engineering rafts!

3rd –  5th Graders: “Merry Adventures”
Join the Grinch on a STEM adventure through Whoville, applying Newton’s laws of motion and exploring the science of light and transparency!

6th – 8th Graders: “Flight Simulators”
Become a virtual pilot by studying the fundamentals of flight and flying simulated missions in our state-of-the-art simulators!

Kindergarten: “Snowy Science”
Winter fun awaits! Kindergarteners will follow Peter’s snowy footsteps, exploring the science of winter through hands-on STEM activities and experiments.

1st – 2nd Graders: “Snowy Science”
Snow much FUN! Winter scientists will explore and investigate the magical world of water, snow, and ice through hands-on STEM experiments and make delicious ice cream in the process.

3rd –  5th Graders: “Winter WonderSTEM”
Winter fun meets science! Students will embark upon a chilly adventure while investigating the science behind winter phenomena, from freezing temperatures to fluffy snow while conducting hands-on STEM experiments.

6th – 8th Graders: “Exploring Interstellar Space”
Journey to the stars! Explore the vastness of space and discover the wonders of the universe as you model our solar system, track celestial bodies, and learn about distant stars and planets in the Museum of Aviation’s exclusive StarLab Planetarium.

February 1, 2025: NEW Spring Semester Pricing $20 per participant/per STEM Lab

Kindergarten: “Budding Explorers”
Plant a seed of curiosity! Kindergarteners will embark upon a plant-filled adventure, become plant detectives, and investigate the amazing world of plants and their life cycles.

1st – 2nd Graders: “Budding Explorers”
Let’s grow together! Students will join us on a journey on a botanical adventure and will experiment, observe, and discover the wonders of the natural world of living things, from seeds to sprouts.

3rd –  5th Graders: “Cupid’s Coders”
Become a coding cupid! In this exciting STEM lab, you’ll learn to program robots, solve puzzles, and create your own robotic Valentine’s Day delivery service.

6th – 8th Graders: “Greco Roman STEM”
Journey to the stars! Explore the vastness of space and discover the wonders of the universe as you model our solar system, track celestial bodies, and learn about distant stars and planets in the Museum of Aviation’s exclusive StarLab Planetarium.

April 5, 2025: NEW Spring Semester Pricing $20 per participant/per STEM Lab

Kindergarten: “Eggciting STEM”
Crack into STEM fun! Kindergarteners will build colorful structures and design parachutes to protect a fragile egg in this hands-on, egg-citing adventure.

1st – 2nd Graders: “Eggciting STEM”
Crack into science! First and second graders will explore the science behind eggs through fun experiments, from investigating the effects of heat to levitating eggs.

3rd –  5th Graders: “Eggcellent Engineers”
Become an egg-cellent engineer! Students will design and build the perfect hideout for the Easter Bunny using engineering skills and creative problem-solving.

6th – 8th Graders: “Aviation Science”
Become an aviation engineer! Students will dive into the world of aviation and learn about the physics behind flight by designing and building their own aircraft and testing it in the Museum of Aviation’s exclusive wind tunnel.

May 3, 2025: NEW Spring Semester Pricing $20 per participant/per STEM Lab

Kindergarten: “STEM Stories”
Thinking outside the box! Kindergarteners will become architects, build creativity and resourcefulness, and learn the power of collaboration by applying the story “Boxitects” by Kim Smith throughout this STEM Lab.

1st – 2nd Graders: “STEM Stories”
Help Goldilocks! First and second graders will use the Engineering Design Process to construct, test, and build upon their designs. rack into science! First and second graders will explore the science behind eggs through fun experiments, from investigating the effects of heat to levitating eggs.

3rd –  5th Graders: “STEM Stories”
Help The Three Little pigs! Third through fifth graders will use the Engineering Design Process to construct, test, and build upon their designs. The big bad wolf will get stronger as time goes on!

6th – 8th Graders: “Lairs and Lepidoptera”
Bugged out about STEM? Explore a future world of insects and use math and biology to solve problems and save the day in this imaginative STEM adventure using math and science skills.
