Keynote Speaker: Gen. Philip M. Breedlove, USAF, Ret.
Gen. Philip M. Breedlove retired from the US Air Force as NATO’s Commander, Supreme Allied Command, Europe, “SACEUR” and Commander U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany. He currently is a Distinguished Professor of the Practice at Georgia Tech’s Sam Nunn School of International Affairs and serves on the Board of Directors at the Atlantic Council.
The General was raised in Forest Park, Georgia, received a Degree in Civil Engineering, and was commissioned in 1977 as a distinguished graduate of Georgia Tech’s ROTC program. He has been assigned to numerous operational, command, and staff positions and has completed eleven overseas tours, including two remote tours. He has commanded a fighter squadron, an operations group, three fighter wings, a numbered air force, a major combatant command, and an alliance. General Breedlove served in several senior staff positions including as Vice Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force, Washington, D.C., the Senior Military Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force, and as Vice Director for Strategic Plans and Policy on the Joint Staff. General Breedlove is a command pilot with 3,500 flying hours, primarily in the F-16, and has flown combat missions in Operation Joint Forge/Joint Guardian.
Prior to assuming his position as SACEUR, General Breedlove served as the Commander of U.S. Air Forces in Europe, Commander of U.S. Air Forces Africa, Commander of Air Component Command, Ramstein, and Director of Joint Air Power Competence Centre, Kalkar, Germany. He was responsible for Air Forces activities conducted through the 3rd Air Force in an area of operations covering more than 19 million square miles. This area included 105 countries in Europe, Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Arctic and Atlantic oceans. As Vice Chief, he presided over the Air Staff and served as a member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Requirements Oversight Council and Deputy Advisory Working Group. He assisted the Chief of Staff with organizing, training, and equipping of 680,000 active-duty, Guard, Reserve, and civilian forces serving in the United States and overseas. Distinguished Technology Speaker: Greg King, Associate VP for Economic Development, Georgia Tech
Greg King serves as Georgia Tech’s Associate Vice President for Economic Development where he leads strategic external relations with industry and government to support economic growth in Georgia. Greg also provides leadership and guidance for economic development initiatives and programs to enhance the impact of Technology Square, Science Square, and other innovation districts associated with Georgia Tech. He works to establish new technology-focused operations onsite and activate these hubs as communities of innovation.
Greg has significant experience in activating public/private partnerships and advancing technology-based economic development, including previously serving in a joint appointment as an Assistant Vice Chancellor with the University System of Georgia. As an officer in the United States Navy, he served in a variety of executive, staff, and operational leadership assignments worldwide. He holds a BS in Industrial Management from Georgia Tech and an MA in Economics from the University of Oklahoma. Greg is a certified economic developer (CEcD) and serves in leadership and advisory roles in various professional associations. He is an alumnus of the Fulbright International program, where he focused on public/private partnerships, innovation hubs, and economic development.
Distinguished Military Speaker: Dale R. White, Lt Gen, USAF
Lt. Gen. Dale R. White is the Military Deputy, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. He is responsible for research and development, test, production, product support and modernization of Air Force programs worth more than $60 billion annually.
Lt. Gen. White is a 1997 distinguished graduate of ROTC Detachment 845 at Texas Christian University. His career has included a wide variety of scientific, acquisition, and operational planning assignments involving space, cyber, and aircraft systems; including assignments at the Space and Missile Systems Center, Air Force Lifecycle Management Center, Air Force Research Laboratory, Headquarters Air Intelligence Agency, Big Safari Systems Group, Air Force Rapid Capabilities Office, and three Program Executive Officer leadership roles.
Prior to his current position, he was the Program Executive Officer for Fighters and Advanced Aircraft, Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, Air Force Materiel Command, Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio. His responsibilities included the development, production, fielding, sustainment and modernization of the Air Force fighter portfolio, which includes the $42 billion Future Years Defense Program for A-10, A-29, F- 15, F-16, F-22, and special programs; as well as the development of the Next Generation Air Dominance family of systems and other advanced aircraft capability development activities. Concluding Speaker: Honorable Robert H. McMahon, Former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment and retired Major General, USAF
Mr. McMahon is the former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Sustainment. He served as the principal staff assistant and advisor to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment, Deputy Secretary of Defense, and Secretary of Defense on sustainment in the Department of Defense, and was the principal logistics official within the senior management.
From 2015 to 2017, Mr. McMahon served as President of Fickling Management Services in Macon, Georgia. He led a team of commercial real estate professionals whose portfolio spanned eight states. Previously, he served as the Director of Field Operations and Site Lead (Warner Robins Air Force Base, Georgia) of the Boeing C-17 Globemaster III Integrated Sustainment Program (GISP), and as the CEO of the 21st Century Partnership in Warner Robins, Georgia.
Born in Toledo, Ohio, Mr. McMahon entered active duty in the United States Air Force after graduation from the U.S. Air Force Academy in 1978. Mr. McMahon holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Science degree in Maintenance Management from the Air Force Institute of Technology.
Currently, Mr. McMahon serves as an Operating Advisor to Liberty Hall Capital Partners, a private equity firm focused on the aerospace and defense sector; serves as a senior advisor to Systecon North America, the nation’s premier modeling and simulation firm; serves as a consultant for the Institute for Defense Analysis; and sits on the Board of American Roll-On Roll-Off Carrier, the leading U.S.-flag Ro-Ro carrier. Moderator: John C. Kubinec, Brig Gen, USAF, Ret.
Brigadier General John Kubinec, USAF, retired, serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the 21st Century Partnership in Warner Robins, Georgia. He is responsible for implementation of the vision, mission and strategies of the Partnership.
A Georgia nonprofit corporation, the 21st Century Partnership is the only community enterprise dedicated solely to preserving the military presence of Robins Air Force Base, while helping Middle Georgia communities prepare to avert potential efforts to marginalize the missions of the base. The Partnership accomplishes these goals principally by working closely with national, regional and local leadership along with community organizations to make Middle Georgia as conducive as possible to build on current missions and accept new missions; thereby enhancing the 70-plus year partnership between the base and community. For more than 25 years, the Partnership has been a key participant in all large-scale Department of Defense decision-making of impact to Robins Air Force Base.
General Kubinec served as the Commander of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Complex at Robins Air Force Base, Georgia. He is an AF Academy graduate and a career aircraft/munitions maintenance officer. He has commanded at the squadron, group and wing levels as well as served in key staff positions at the Center, Major Command, Headquarters Air Force, and Combatant Command levels.
