Live Virtual Field Trips

Live Virtual Field Trips The National STEM Academy is now offering Live Virtual Field Trips for groups, schools, and organizations Worldwide!

With many curriculum options to choose from, the National STEM Academy’s Mission Quest STEM programs also offer Live Virtual Field Trips for Pre K – Adult groups, schools, and organizations.  Guided tour and hands-on STEM focused programs that highlight Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics in an innovative and interactive setting.

STEM Programs (6th - 12th Grades)

Mission Quest STEM programs focus on exploration, innovation, and discovery through hands-on STEM activities that incorporate specific Georgia Standards of Excellence for students in grades 6th –12th . The program takes place at the Museum of Aviation or “on the Go” outreach at the school.

Schedule:

Tuesday – Saturday and must be scheduled in advance.

Class size:

Minimum of 5 – Maximum of 10 participants

Cost:

$10 per participant

Curriculum Options:
6th grade: S6E2; S6E6 a
 -Students will learn about the phases of the moon and the season changes while going inside a mobile planetarium.
7th grade: S7L2, S7L3, MGSE7.G.2
 -Students will have the chance to discover different types of triangles using robotics.
8th grade: S8P2 and S8P3
 -Students will use robots to explore the relationships between force, mass, and the motion of objects.
9th – 12th Grade:
 -Students will use hands-on manipulatives to learn about physics or physical science.

STEM “On the Go” (6th – 12th Grades)

*The Mission Quest STEM “On the Go” Program is not scheduling at this time.  Please check back periodically for updates.

The Mission Quest STEM “On the Go” outreach program is offered to schools within 50 miles of the Museum of Aviation.  Program will last approximately 50 minutes.  Will follow the above curriculum, however, activities may vary depending on space availability at the school.

Schedule:

Tuesday – Friday and must be scheduled in advance.

Class size:

Approximately 25 participants

Cost:

$10 per participant

Mobile Planetarium (6th – 12th Grades)

*The Mission Quest Planetarium Program is not scheduling at this time.  Please check back periodically for updates.

The Mission Quest program has a STARLAB mobile planetarium that can be brought to your school or location.  Curriculum can be adjusted for grade levels.

Offered to schools within 50 miles of the Museum of Aviation.  The program can be scheduled during and after school.  Each rotation in the planetarium lasts approx. 20 minutes and can accommodate up to 30 students per rotation, depending on size.

Cost:

$3 per participant
