B-17 Restoration Update: The left inner wing section is, for intents and purposes, done! All structural items are complete, just some polishing left to do!

Ready to install the copilot and center windshields on the HU-16 Albatross. These windshields came from a nose section at the Pima, AZ museum that the MOA shipped here specifically to use the windshields, as it is not possible to find replacement windshields due to the age of the aircraft. We carefully removed these windshields from the Pima aircraft.

June 10, 2018

The second wing on the B-17 is now out front. We are doing detailed inspections to see what needs to be done. We also moved the nose section out front. It’s now paired up next to the tail section.

We are installing new tires on the nose gear of the HU-16 Albatross.

June 17, 2018

B-17 Restoration Update: Open panel at engine four nacelle. Massive corrosion, internal structure needs rebuilding. Corrosion has been cut out and a new shim will be riveted in for securing the nut-plates.

More B-17 Restoration Updates:

-This is the waste gate for the turbo charger. New linkage will have to be manufactured to install it.
-This is the fuel drain cock for the number three engine fuel cell.
-The access panel is going to have to be made new, this one is unserviceable.
