WARNER ROBINS, Ga. — The Museum Aviation held a fundraising event known as “Night at the Museum” on February 8 to celebrate living history with a unique tour through the museum.
“Night at the Museum is one of my favorite events because it makes learning about history so much fun,” says Melissa Spalding, Director of Education for the National STEM Academy. “There are also fun characters from movies, like Star Wars Storm Troopers and Darth Vader. Visitors will peek in cockpits that are usually not open, go inside a Planetarium and do some fun science experiments.”
The event had over 100 volunteers participate in creating an evening that featured re-enactors, storytellers, presenters, hands-on activities and Veteran meet and greets.
There were several exhibits created for the event featuring “Neil Armstrong”, “Rosie the Riveter”, “Albert Einstein” and more.
Proceeds raised at the event will benefit the Museum’s National STEM Academy.
This academy offers several educational programs for students Pre-K through 12th grade. In 2019 the museum’s education programs reached over 52,00 participants.
