The Ground Power Receptacle box has been installed. In addition, the oxygen regulators have been mounted inside the Radio Operators area.

Our restoration team is working on the wing vent structure. These are vents that exhaust engine fumes from inside the wing housing.

Pictured here is also the skin from the bottom of the forward fuselage area. This cut out is for the mounting of the loop antenna housing. The last picture is the loop antenna housing that mounts on the belly just forward of the bomb bay.

The first picture shows the underside of the belly, just forward of the bomb bay. This is where new skin is being riveted in. The second picture shows the new skin after being riveted in place. And the last picture is the inside of the area after new skin has been riveted in place.

Our restoration team is putting in Plexiglas windows in the Bombardier/Navigator section of the aircraft.

 

November 25, 2018

All new hinges have to be restored and installed at the main crew access doorway. In addition to the hinges, a new skin panel has to be cut and installed. The old panel was removed and the new panel is cut, ready to go in.

 

November 26, 2018

What you see here are brand new primary flight control cables that are routed at the aft section of the main wing structure. Our restoration team also installed new fastener clips for the access panel inside the flat box. These are called Dzeus fasteners.
