WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) ā€“ Threeā€¦ twoā€¦ oneā€¦ blastoff! It was an exciting day for campers at the Museum of Aviation on Wednesday.

Older students built and shot their own rockets, flying high into the sky and almost invisible to the human eye, before gently parachuting to the ground.

ā€œWe have children in pre-K through 12th grade all learning about cool space, and science and math and theyā€™re really having a good time,ā€ Melissa Spalding, Director of Education at the museum said. ā€œToday they even launched some rockets!ā€

About 65 students from all over Middle Georgia took part in the Space and Rocketry Camp, spearheaded by the Education Department at the museum.

Campers are taught facts about planets, space and stars, while also incorporating mathematical skills. There was even an inflatable planetarium set inside the the Century of Flight Hangar, just big enough for children to crawl through.

The camp ends June 24. For more information about the Space & Rocketry Camp and other events, visit www.museumofaviation.org.
